Event for women working on Sustainable Development business held at Miranda

A two days conclave held in the Delhi Universitys Miranda House focused on empowering women business owners to forge collaborations, mentorship, and investment opportunities for women entrepreneurs working in waste management, circular economy, climate technology, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. UnPollute was a two days Sustainability Conclave, organised by STEP in partnership with Miranda House, which brought together women entrepreneurs, students, government leaders, and industry experts. Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor at the Ministry of Commerce & Industry Arti Bhatnagar highlighted the governments support for women entrepreneurs, citing the Start-up India Seed Fund Scheme, which allocates Rs. Five crore to each incubator for start-ups, including women-led initiatives. Women entrepreneurs are driving Indias sustainability journey, she said, applauding the platform for amplifying their impact. Reinu Shah, STEPs Founder, stressed the role of women entrepreneurs in creating jobs and catalyzing systemic change. Miranda House Principal Bijayalaxmi Nanda reaffirmed the institutions commitment to nurturing future leaders in environmental sustainability through partnerships like the one with STEP. The solutions to climate change will emerge from the knowledge and innovation we foster today. Keynote speakers, included Sanjiv Singh from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and entrepreneurs like Garima Poonia of Trash Pirate and Manik Thapar of Eco Wise Waste Management emphasized the importance of innovation and rethinking waste management as central to sustainability. The event featured start-up pitching sessions, a Meta-led master class, and concluded with an award ceremony recognizing exceptional women founders for their contributions to climate action and three women led start ups received grant of Rs. six lakhs. Pahal Garwa owner of Green Gum, India Recycles owned Renu Pokharna,  Kiashas MTL Pvt Ltd lead by Anisha Shetty received the grant.
